Loloma Foundation Partners with Volcom’s Give Back Program

Volcom’s Give Back Series has partnered with Loloma Foundation during the 2012 Volcom Fiji Pro World Tour Surfing Event at Tavarua Resort, Fiji. A portion of the proceeds from each sale ofVolcom Fiji Pro merchandise will go directly to supporting the Loloma  Foundation.

Volcom’s Derek A. Sabori, Sr. Director of the Department of Sustainability shares, ” Every time we put on an event, we are well aware of the impact that it will potentially have. From the fuel to get there, the food, the waste, the traffic, etc. – it all comes at a cost to the community in which we’re holding it and to the environment. Our aim and commitment is to acknowledge that fact, manage it and account for it.

This year, at our inaugural ASP World Tour event (Association of Surfing Professionals) the Volcom Fiji Pro, we are fortunate enough to be teaming with some great partners to make this one of the most exciting New Future events we’ve done.

  • A Deeper Blue – Following the ASP North America /SustainableSurf.Org sustainable surf event guidelines.
  • Carbon Neutral – We’ll be offsetting the full carbon impact of this event.
  • Surf Credits – Travel well! Ever heard of Sustainable Surf Tourism? Learn about it and get your Surf Credits and a free Fiji Pro Tee while supplies last.
  • Give Clean Water – We’ve teamed up with Tavarua Resort to get clean water filters to each house in 2 local villages.”

The foundation is grateful and excited about these new partnerships helping to assist the less fortunate people of the South Pacific.
